Subject: Color Guard Audition

The winter guard season is sadly coming to an end in the coming months. We would like to offer some exceptional performers a chance to expand their talents and excel. Revolution has held most of its color guard spots open to allow for participation in winter guards. Congratulations to our veteran members Mark Moreno, Denise Rangel, and Katie Mandes for securing their positions in our field guard.

Currently, we have approximately 14-20 auditionees vying for the remaining 13 spots, but at the same time we would like to offer an opportunity for those who have been busy competing in winter guard to compete for the positions as well. The aforementioned spots will remain open until our April 19-21 camp.

Knowing that TECA State Competition occurs during our March 22-24 camp, we have made that camp optional for all color guard members, but if you are not attending the Uvalde Competition, we highly encourage you to attend this camp. This will allow state non-participants a chance to catch up or get ahead...depending on your prospective.

If you are interested in auditioning, please contact A. Jay Riojas at riojas@revolution-corps.org.

Minimum technical requirements for successful applicants includes, but is not limited to:

Flag: 100 Left & Right Spins, 100 Peggy Spins, tosses (single, 1 1/2, double)
Rifle/Saber: 100 Left & Right Spins, Tosses up to 6's
We use 39" weapons and 6' & 7' flag poles, if anyone wants to bring their own.

Other considerations include attitude, ability to learn quickly (aptitude), ability to work as part of the team (no individuals), and basic dance knowledge.

Our tour fees are $850. We do offer assistance to those who could not otherwise afford this cost. More information will be provided upon request.

Again, if you are interested in auditioning contact A. Jay at riojas@revolution-corps.org and visit our web site at http://www.revolution-corps.org for the latest information.

It's going to be another successful season.
