Subject: turning my comp into a server to host a site on it

Does anyone know how I might be able to turn my comp into a server so I can host a site on it, i.e what are the software I need, so far I guess php 5 and apache server mysq, what else? How do I configure my computer to act as a server to put a site on the www? Simple step by step instructions will be much obliged
