Subject: Win xp reinstall question

Hard drive went out in the laptop so i got a new drive. The laptop had the setup/ repair files ( xp home )on that drive that went bad . If i burn and use windows xp home ( oem ) copy from online and use my numbers on my laptop will it have updating or activate problems ?
I looked for a hp version online but no luck - just a dell version . Anyone recall seeing one ? :-)
