Subject: Got a tech question >>

First a little background,I work at a job where im able to aquire used puters to be recycled, recently i picked up on a dell that wont power up, and more recently i picked up another dell that fires up but is missing the hard drive. So heres my situation, the 1 that does work had a sata drive, and the other a ide.Am i able to put the ide into the other michine?Ive never delt with sata before. The ribbons in the newer machine dont have extra plugs, can i put a differnt ribbon in and hook up the ide (say for instance through the cd or dvd drives)and reset the boot sequence and make it run? I know theres much more info I could give, but wanted to try to make this simple,I did google, but pretty much everything came back as changing ide to sata. Any info would be greatful. Thanks.
