Subject: www based authentication and some questions:)

Hello!
What is the beast these days prog to crack www based authentication? Are there any methods to crack site with authentication that requires typing code from random picture? Maybe there is a way to crack these sites not through this authentication, but maybe through registration form?

A few years ago I was cracking sites, but today I see that this is much more demanding :( THX for any help, especially for some updated source of information :)
BTW I see that some people are still present in this cracking world.
