Well I don't think any of the freeview channels broadcast over the internet due to bandwidth issues (though there is talk of installing hardware to help with IPTV in local exchanges, but that will only be useful to UK locations)
The most you can hope for is the programming you wish to watch is repeated on the On-demand, iPlayer or any other such systems which make the shows available to view up to a week later.

The only other alternative that might (stressing might) be of any use is a piece of IPTV software called TVUPlayer, its kind of like Joost it that it allows streaming channels via a bit torrent protocol, however I don't think the content is completely legal as anybody can stream.
But because anyone can stream you do get a few channels from time to time you might want to watch, you usually get U.S tv on there but I have seen a few UK channels on there too, ok not the whole freeview range but a few which have UK tv shows which are popular overseas.

But saying that I still prefer to download my shows via bit torrent, as good as TVU is during peak internet times you can get a lot of lag which just spoils it. Better to just download and then play back without interruption. ;)
