In my old modem days, I tried out of of the so called accelerators and not one of them was worth a damn. Reason being that no matter what you use you will still have the same speed. Yes file down loaders do dl in nine or ten parts but to me it was no quicker. The best thing I found that actually worked was to phone my phone company and tell them that your net connection keeps cutting you of and would it be possible for them to turn up your gain at their end. That did make a difference to my dl speed.
