Subject: Hard Drive Folder Problem

Hi all,
Ive recently had hard drive trouble,and now Ive got a directory called "tmp.0000"
When I open it there are folders named with weird symbols,for example
¡þ :┴ã╬.ðÛ and ╗ËÎpsz.É8ï
I can't delete them,they are dated for example 2086 and 2102 and I've tried deleting them in dos,but it won't let me.
Anybody any help to offer ? Many thanks in advance :)
