Unfortunately, you choose to consider my comments, advice and suggestions as "negative" because they usually make you look bad. Not my problem!

For example, your original post claimed this movie file was in XVID format, but you failed to mention that the file name extension was ".xvid" ... which would have been your very first clue that something was very wrong here.

You failed to mention that you had not view this file on your computer before attempting to burn it to a DVD. Why on earth wouldn't you have done that? Why would you waste time and money burning something to a DVD that you haven't watched, at least in part, and therefore have no idea about the quality?

Most people with a brain would also have checked the quality of this film immediately. It's always wise to make sure the audio is in sync with the video? Does failure to do any of these things sound like a person who "knows there way around"? I think not.
