Yes screwball I have seen them, but don't they have to be posted with the upload of the rar files? If yes, and I think so, that would be up to the poster, right? Now I know your a very big fan of newsgroups and are sitting on a high speed connection, so newsgroups downloading is a fine way for you to get your files and I understand PAR & PAR2 files are the norm in that format, but have you tried to do much downloading from newsgroups with dialup, a slow one at that? hasn't worked to well for me. So unless I misunderstand where PAR and PAR2 files come from, if the uploader didn't put them in the upload list sent to the Rapidshare server for instance then the downloader is out of luck. Do I have it right or wrong?
I do appreciate your reply and I'm sure your right about having some way to reconstruct a file, but not many people provide that with there uploads.
