Former correctional officer pleads guilty to indecent exposure

A former Frederick County Sheriff's Office correctional officer will have to wait three months to find out his fate after he pleaded guilty Tuesday to an indecent exposure charge.

Mark Anthony Baziuk, 30, of Frederick, was charged after an employee at the Target at 5437 Urbana Pike saw him exposing himself in the store's parking lot, according to the sheriff's office.

Surveillance cameras captured Baziuk the afternoon of Jan. 26 masturbating in his truck as customers walked by, Assistant State's Attorney Melissa Bender told Frederick County District Court Judge Janice Rodnick Ambrose.

When Baziuk stepped out of the truck, police saw that his pants were unzipped, Bender said.

Baziuk, who is about 6 feet 8 inches tall and 270 pounds, graduated with the 22nd class of the Frederick County Criminal Justice Training Academy in 2004.

He resigned from the sheriff's office Feb. 7, spokeswoman Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said Tuesday.

Ambrose postponed Baziuk's sentencing in District Court for 90 days while he attends counseling. She also banned him from the Target on Urbana Pike
