Hello, Mr. Steve Perry, how are you these days? I hope you are well! I'd like to wish you a belated happy birthday and much more to come. I remember when I first heard you on the radio, I believe it was KLOS or KMET back in 1979, 1980. They were playing, "LIGHTS", one of my favorites of my Journey collections. As soon as I heard that song I rushed out to go and buy both albums, "Infinity", & "Evolution". I've been a Steve Perry, Journey fan for life. I was very disapointed to hear about the departure, (no point intended) between you, and the rest of the band. But for whatever reason I had a great journey folowing your musical career. I enjoy your solo albums and I hope you are still planning to record some new ones in the future. Although Journey continues without their original singer, you, those new ones can,t and never will be able to write or even sing like you. Yeah, maybe the may have the same tone on some of the songs but they can't phrase the way you do. Nor can they write lyrics as good as you do. Don't get me wrong I love Neal Schon's guitar playing, infact he's my favorite guitar player along with Jimmy Page, and Steffen Schackinger. and Jonathan Caine's piano creativity and playing. The new singer for Journey cannot hit the note that you sing on, "Sweet and Simple", and, "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever", and much more. No one will ever replace you Steve Perry, you are a legend to me and many other fans! May God bless you all the days of your life! Happy Birthday! A true fan for life, Sincerely, Shawn J. Lastimosa

I remember getting advanced copies of Journey songs before they were aired, as well as STREET TALK, and falling in love with the music & your vocals each time I heard them played. Steve, you have made my life better with your songs. They inspire me, no matter what I am going through in life. I heard you live for the first time standing outside of the coliseum in 1980 in Nashville, TN (I was 16). I saw you for the 1st & only time live in concert in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1987. In my opinion, you've shared the BEST voice in the world with the world. I thank God for you. I will be a fan of yours for the rest of my life. You are so brilliant! happy birthday steve. i'm 14 and i havn't been a fan as long as some people but none the less your music has changed my life in a big way. i used to be very unhappy most people didn't notice. i find that i can relate to alot of your songs. too late helped when i was watching my friends and ruin their lives because they were heavily into drugs. when i first got the journey greatest hits cd for my birthday i used to sit in my room and air guitar to it for hours. now that i have the journey guitar anthology i can actually learn and play along. and since i started listening to your music i've realized that i want to be a guitar player in a rock band (now i just need to find a band/prosecuter i know it's a strange combonation. my point is once i started listening to your music i got happier i don't argue with my parents as much. and i got focused. your music has united people from all over the world and of all different ages who may not even have anything in commen except that they appreciate and admire your music and your voice. and since i'm under the leagel drinking age i'll raise my glass of sparkling apple cider and say thank you and happy birthday (and late christmas and new years). rock on.
