Dork looked up at the warlord, lips and tongue twitching in a constant silent survey of his environment. After a moment of bored silence, his lips split to show the ivory woodpile of his teeth in a wide, twisted grin. "Can't go much faster, mnn..." He looked down at a can, nudging it with his knuckles, weighing its worth. "Close now. Smell them, smell the knowledge. Taste it." He sucked his breath in through his teeth before giving a clattering, confused laugh. "Taste it."
Skaré pulled his cloak over his shoulder, resting his arm against the hilt of his sword before stepping up beside the warlord, speaking in a low voice. “He’s right. I can taste it,” he murmured, glancing briefly up at Phir’s face. “I don’t know if you can, Lord, but it’s on the air. It’s acrid, like electricity…like a current. It’s coming from there.” He drew his sword easily, twisting it over in his palm before pointing in a northerly direction. The little, crippled troll laughed delightedly in his clumsy way, dropping to lie on his side and peddle his legs.
