You weren't quite sure what happened next. There was a light that flooded the immediate area, and when it cleared, there were two things different. The Dark Spirit was floating in a ball above Kalin's head, and a small blue gem floating above that. It was captivating to look at, really. It was in the shape of a teardrop, with a faceted surface that took in and reflected light in a rainbow of colors.... It was almost hypnotic.....

Your gaze was broken when a green aura surrounded Vishne and show over to Kalin. Most likely divine intervention, because even WITH the spell, he was probably teerering at the brink of death.

The priestess banished the Dark Spirit and the light in the circle faded.

The mage and Kalin both stumbled and fell, and Vishne felt an amazing sense of nausea that threatened to make him cough up a lung. The priests seemed to be fine, though they too were captivated by the small stone floating in the air.*~+~
