I lean towards the parents making fetus decisions. But that brings about testing for the "perfect child". And if the government gets to decide, what will be their terms and conditions that allow or prevent abortion. And whose values are realized?

Not surprisingly, the Republican House is behind the scientific curve. There is no need to abort when you can pre-define gender with the right sperm.

Why not screen for diseases or increased risk of illness in the future? Why not test for gender, and eventually physical and behavioral traits?

The problem is that we have no mechanism to make decisions about where to stop. Brown eyes or Blue?

These decisions deserve societal discussion and debate in which we ask ourselves not whether we can choose what our children will be like, but whether we should.

So who owns the "rights" of the unborn?

The government to make the rules or the parents to make the rules?

If your parents knew what you now know about yourself, would your faults be sufficient reason to abort and try again?

Are your genes good enough?

Is there a way to abort future democrats?
