Another great arrest.



MARLBOROUGH — A Framingham man arrested in recent drug sweeps in Marlborough and Hudson was arrested again Tuesday when he picked up his car that had been seized and drove away — despite having a suspended license.

Juan Gonzalez, 41, of Framingham, was one of dozens of people arrested in drug sweeps on Jan. 18.

For his role in the drug investigation, Gonzalez was charged with having drugs near a school or park, possession and distribution of a Class A substance, three counts of conspiracy, and attempting to commit a crime, police said.

Police seized his 2001 Honda Civic, but then learned there was a lien on the car and they couldn’t keep it, Detective Scott DeCiero said Wednesday.

So police contacted Gonzalez to tell him he could pick up his car.

Gonzalez, who has a suspended license, showed up with a friend at the station to retrieve the car on Tuesday, DeCiero said.

“He was there with another person,” DeCiero said. “The assumption was that the other person was going to drive the vehicle.”

But Gonzalez got into the car and drove away. Knowing that his license was suspended, police pulled him over in front of the station and arrested him, DeCiero said.

Gonzalez, of 14 Newton Place, first floor, was charged with driving with a suspended license, police said.
