No offense or anything, but I think you guys are missing what the point of school is: to learn, most things beyond that aren't taken into account. Besides, the 6 period day allows for a consistent study of the prominent subjects such as: English, math, social studies, science and world languages. This way, I believe, because it allows for a year long course, students are able to develop a stronger understanding of the subject. Also, finals are narrowed down to three classes a day instead of four. But there are downsides as all of you have mentioned: the six period day doesn't compliment the after school activities of students and it limits the choice of electives. In addition to my statements, I believe that the 6 period day helps establish the intensity of college work, which is much more.
