With the spread of English as the global language many people from other speaking countries go to other places in hope of being English teachers. The article shows that all the three who were involved in the program were pedagogically well prepared to be teachers. Their curriculum let us know that they all had theories as well as previous studies. For this I mean general pedagogical knowledge that teachers bring from their home and how this knowledge is utilized and transformed in the new context to develop a set of knowledge needed for English as a foreign language (EFL) teaching pedagogical content knowledge, which involves arriving with a plan and making adjustments. All this could be very important and useful if they could execute their work without having to face serious cultural problems because the Taiwanese wanted someone with American accent to teach their children and so the government wanted it to be taught in their schools. The teachers had also to teach something they were not familiar with, manage misbehaved students and teach large classes. Besides, for theories function more effectively in the Taiwanese context, they should be equipped with more terms, pedagogical content knowledge and pedagogical context knowledge. They also need to make adjustments to address the learning needs of their students and gain more knowledge about the classroom, school, and societal contexts.
