Date Posted: 10:09:46 08/14/10 Sat It is important to comment that the suggested site about "Reading Matrix” articles is a great tool to use as teachers, as a base, a foundation for our teaching and review of our practice in the classroom. With a focus on publications of recent years, with articles and comments on books, I would highlight some specific topics frequently covered: ARTICLES: - Multiple Intelligences * How to motivate learners - Strategies * Providing adaptations to reading strategies intended for use with students with learning disabilities - Critical readers - Technology as a learning tool - Fill the void left by traditional methods of dealing with vocabulary development BOOK REVIEW: - It is important to have theory and practice together * Reflective language teaching practices - Engagement among low-income and minority students - Reflective teaching All these topics are emphasized focusing on the importance of teaching our students first and to be critical and for teachers to unite all the theory and the practice of the classroom, according to the styles and intelligences of each student for them to be motivated, using their own experiences and tools of the day to day to learn.
