Date Posted: 14:24:34 08/12/10 Thu Is Reading Matrix a good example of refereed journal? Refereed journals are “scholarly journals that only publish articles that have passed through a review process. The review process helps to ensure that the published articled reflect solid scholarship in the fields.” The Reading Matrix is “a peer-reviewed professional journal with an editorial board of scholars in the field of second language acquisition and applied linguistics.” Even being The Reading Matrix an online journal that focuses on the second language acquisition issues, it is possible to be considered a good example of refereed journal. It has al the characteristics of a refereed journal, such as: the articles published on it are peer-reviewed and it is reviewed by scholars in the field.
