Subject: Illegals and In-State Tuition

My brother gave me hell about this letter I wrote.

I didn't want make an issue of the fact that Deval Patrick was wrong in trying to bypass the Legislature.

He most definitely was. That wasn't the purpose of my letter, it was to show that if children of illegals want a handout then make sure their parents are contributing also.





Pay, and you can stay

I want to make a comment about Gov. Deval Patricks plan to bypass the Legislature and give instate tuition to children of illegal aliens.

I actually have no problem with it, IF the child is going to remain in the United States and contribute to this country with the skills he or she learns from their education. Why punish them for something that their parents did wrong.

Now for the parents. If they are doing their share of paying taxes and all the other expenses of providing for their children, then again I have no problem with it. I think what gets most people mad is the fact that most of the illegal aliens that are here are not on the radar for paying for anything, and they expect us to pay for all the outside services for their children.

If the government is not going to enforce the laws of deporting illegal aliens like they should be doing, then they should make sure the illegals are paying for the services they receive.

My motto is 'if you pay you stay!'
