Subject: Free Speech Meeting

Thursday night about 30 Framingham residents met at Summerville Assisted Living quarters across from Farm Pond to form a group to look into free speech issues and what to do about it, now that SMOC has filed a lawsuit against several residents and town officials.
The group will be called the Framingham Free Speech Coalition.
Ed McGrath chaired the event that lasted about 90 minutes which gave several of the towns people some time to express themselves on what their concerns were dealing with the vicious attack on free speech by SMOC on town officials and local private citizens.
There will be a board of volunteers to lead the group of Framingham residents through the maze of what can be done to calm the fears of those who have something to say but are afraid to speak out due to the legal ramifications already brought upon those who have been charged by SMOC of all sorts of supposedly civil rights, disability etc etc violations.
Harold Wolfe will put together a website called something to the effect the Framingham Free Speech Coalition. I'm not exactly sure if an acronym is going to used or not.
Some of the members on the board to lead the coalition are Harold Wolfe, Ned Price, Mary Connaughton, Jim and Joe Rizoli,Kevin Croatty,Jack Prindiville to name a few. It is hoped that those from other political sides in the town will join the cause too, being that the group is non partisan. If you are interested in joining the group please get in touch with Ed McGrath, or one of those mentioned above.
There will be meeting in a month or so to plot out strategy on what to do in the months ahead.
