Date Posted: 23:20:12 10/02/08 Thu I was about eight years old and had received a penicillan injection from the doctor which made my bottom quite sore. He sent a nurse from his surgery the next day for another injection which I didnt know about until she walked in the door of my bedroom. I became increasingly nervous as I saw her take out the syringe and begin mixing up the solution. She drew some sterile water into the syringe and then injected this into another container. She then mixed it all until she was satisfied and then told me to turn over onto my stomach. I didnt want to do it fearing what was coming but had the sheet dragged down and I was turned over by my friends mother while my mother pulled my pyjamas down baring my bottom. I knew my friend was just outside and saw his face as he looked in to see what was happening. By this time I didnt care I just wanted them not to hurt me but I felt the cold swab on my cheek and his mum calling him to come and hold my ankles as I was kicking and crying. There was this terrible pain in my bottom which seemed to go on for an eternity and then I was left laying there teary eyed as they all recovered from the struggle, apparently I put up quite a fight. My mother tried to pull my pants up but I couldnt stand anyone touching the injection site for a few minutes so I was left in peace laying there with a bare and very sore behind. I woke up a while later with a sheet over me and feeling a lot better. My friend visited later to see how I was and I was a little embarrassed about crying like I did but he was very kind and said he cried when he got an injection like that too.
