For those who do not know yet, Worldwide Slowpitch has officially become a slowpitch Association os of today January 2004. We are currently seeking:

State Directors
Tournament Directors
League Directors
State Umpires in Charge
Umpires and we have 9 ver selective spots on the national board.

The motto for this association is " For the players...By the players"

Here is just a little sample of the difference!

Pitchers:
Pitchers have the opportunity to use by their choice a pitching safety box that runs directly behind the pitching rubber and extends for about 4 feet.

Height 6' and 10' with a strike mat. If the ball hits home plate, it is considered a ball.

If at anytime, a batter hits a ball back up the middle and the pitcher is unable to react to the ball and it strikes them on their body, the batter is ruled out immediately. The pitcher must make an attempt if possible, to get out of the way of the ball or attempt to make a play on the ball. This help provide added safety to the pitcher.

Anything with a 2000 ASA stamp or higher is legal for play. Only 2 bats are discluded
Titanium
Ultra 1
The days of buying expensive bats and being told you can't use them, is over with WWS.

Base stealing is permitted from all 3 bases after the pitch has crossed the plate and is at a downward movement.

15 run rule after 5 innings,

Tournament play gives you 3 Game guarantees,no matter what

Homerun rules:
E = 2
D = 3
C = 5
B = 7
Anything after the alloted amount is considered an out.

Winners of Each tournament receive:
12 Sweatshirts ot T-shirts with Champion Logos and Year
12 Storm Equipment Bags
Sponsor Trophy
Automatic Berth to the US World Series, held in 2004 at Big League Dreams in California.

If you win a Worlds Tournament, WWS buys your rings for you. No more of this, if you beat 80 of the top teams over the US, you still have to pay for your rings, thats not right. If you play that hard to win a big tourney like this, we honor you by buying your rings.

Player Levels
A national database will be kept with all the info about registered teams througout the US. If for any reason, a non registered team attempts to play in a WWS sanction tournament, they must provide the National Office via the tourney director a list of their state directors of the other associations they play in. If they are found to be attempting to play in a tourney where they are above the skill level offered, they will be suspended from WWS for one year.

If a single player, attempts to enter a roster where he will be illegal, that team is also suspended for 1 year. Managers and Coaches have the responsibility to make sure their team is legal. Sandbagging is not an option for WWS. We want good competition and people to have fun. Fun is not playing at a lower level then what you are more then qualified to play at.

E Teams are allowed 2 D player
D Teams are allowed 2 C players
C Teams are allowed 3 B Players
B Teams are allowed 2 A players and 1 Major Player

Balls that will be used are
44 COR 525 Compression Legends or Evil balls

This is just a highlight of the new stuff to come from WWS, we are tired of seeing the sport decline becuase of the lack of participation by the associations. I received over 50 phone calls yesterday for requests to bring WWS to their state and 3 out of country phone calls who will begin in 2004 using this association.

Our need is now greater then ever to help move this association to its potential. Please if anyone is interetsed in the above positions, call me ASAP, we need to get this going!

Thanks for everyone support!
