Subject: I do not see Tom and Freddy together in a band, but...
In reply to: Maro 's message, "Freddy - lead vocals in Boston (band)?" on 14:02:38 04/29/07 Sun

Dear Maro,
Hi, how is life? I saw your title, and I thought I'd give my 2 cents worth. I am sure you said that with 100% compliments, but I do not see Tom and Freddy working together in a band, but what do I know? Here are my views:

1. I think Tom Scholz is a genius and awesome in Boston. I even loved his later work in Walk On and Corporate America.

2. I would rather see Freddy and Steve do more work together since they are friends and made "magic" together with their past works.

3. This may get me in trouble, but I honestly look at Boston as Tom Scholz's kingdom, which Tom wants to be king of. Here is what I have heard or know that leads me to think this way:
-Tom Scholz fired Fran Cosmo, who was an awesome vocalist, and I am not sure if I agree with why he did it.
-Brad Delp said in a melodicrock.com interview that ONLY Tom heard everything that was to be on the record.
-Tom has supposedly been the one who halted much of the work on Boston's records, and fans had to wait around 7 years before a new record and tour.
-Tom supposedly kept VH1 from making a Behind the Music episode on Boston for his own personal reasons, and I really wonder if the WHOLE band shared that sentiment.
-Which leads me to this...

4. I honestly think that if all this stuff is true, then Freddy would and should be in a position in which he has more say in what goes on.

Once again, I say this because it is my honest opinion. My intention is not to say inflammatory remarks about Freddy, Tom, Boston, or anybody else. It is just that I think it might not work. There might be too many clashes. Still, what do you think? I am interested in hearing what you and others have to say.

Agape,
Don Harris
