Nephews laptop stopped working. Removed all hardware. Removed processor. Turned computer, MB light comes on and both fans turn on. Replaced processor. Does the same thing. Replaced motherboard. Still does the same thing. Sometimes I can get the fans to come on with the processor in the socket but turn it off quickly as I can feel the heatspreader get very warm quickly. Then the fans will not turn back on until I remove the processor. Anybody experience this before? Is it the processors or the motherboards that are causing the short? Very frustrating!
Thank you for your input.
