I have a Palm Zire 21 and would like to load e-books on it. My computer is a MAC with system 9.2 only, so I can't use Adobe reader 7, but I can have occasional access to a Windows machine which will do the job.

Will I have to install Palm software in order to download and transfer the e-book using the Windows machine?

If I load the e-book and e-book reader onto my Palm using the Windows machine, what happens when I do a hot synch using my MAC? Can I still do the hot synch, or will I mess somethiing up?
