QUEENS FOR COURAGE.....AND OUR WINNERS ARE?:
First of all, I want to thank every single person who
came out to support us. It has taken us ten months to
get started, get the word out, and begin to garner
support and awareness for our Wounded Warriors.
Although, we didn't quite reach our goal of $10,000,
we were able to raise in excess of $3,000. We have a
few small things planned between now and Veteran's
Day - so if you know of anyone just itchin to part
with some money - you can send them our way! HAHA
Secondly, it all would not have been possible without
some very special people - my husband and sons -
John, Trevor and Josh, Tonya, my co-director, and
most of all, Courtney and Lilly - who had the
"bright" idea in the first place. :) We also added
Elise and Sharon Battle to the Board of Directors
several weeks ago, and they jumped right in where
needed! I couldn't ask for a better team. There are
others as well, Salem Baptist Church, Barry Cotter and
our Sunday School class, Gina - from the Koffee
Klutch, Chris - from Rum Creek Golf Course, the
ladies at the Fairview Florist Shoppe (donated the
flowers), Kevin and Michelle Tolbert (donated the
beautiful trophies), Afif and Sara - from Studio
Prime Time, Supermodels Unlimited, Ms Patsy - from
Patsy's magazine, and the directors from Miss Georgia
Girl, Beautiful Faces of Georgia, and the GA Teen
America Program. Our biggest thank you goes out to
the City of Hampton, who believed enough in us that
they donated the building, their time, promoted our
cause, and most of all, let us "borrow" Ms Denise
McKay. Each and every one of you are incredible!
