Ellen if you're reading this, tell yourself this: what's the worst case you could think of? She can't take your cigarettes cause 1. it would be hypocritical. and 2. you'll smoke anyway with friends. Be disappointed, well she won't be that disappointed cause she smokes too. There is nothing to worry about. My mom didn't mind that much either. She always said: My children may smoke if they want to, I don't want them to start but if they do plan on start smoking, don't hide it from me. I Find all that secretive stuff highly annoying. Just come on out and tell me.
If you still can't do it, write her a letter, or make a bet with a friend that you'll tell her =)
