Services with full military honors for Staff Sgt. Jimy Mac Malone, 23, of Wills Point are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Wills Point High School with the Rev. Adrian Totty officiating. Burial will be in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen under direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Jimy died Saturday afternoon, June 23, 2007, in Taji, Iraq, as a result of an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle, while serving his second tour of duty.

Jimy was born July 27, 1983, in Irving, the son of Martin Ray Malone and Vicky McDowell Malone. He grew up in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School in 2002. He also attended Kilgore Fire Academy. While he was in high school, he was employed by Brookshire's grocery store in Wills Point. Jimy enlisted in the United States Army on June 19, 2002, and trained in Fort Knox, Ky., before being stationed at Fort Hood. On April 9, 2005, Jimy married his high school sweetheart, Leslie Diane Tisdale, in Wills Point. He was deployed to Iraq on Oct. 30, 2006. He was a member of 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry, Delta Company, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom near Baghdad. Jimy has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart for his service to our country. He enjoyed hunting, playing golf and video games. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Wills Point.

His grandfather, James Mac Malone, preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Leslie Malone of Wills Point; daughter, Reagan Allison Malone of Wills Point; father, Martin R. "Marty" Malone and wife Ginger of Wills Point; mother, Vicky Lewis and husband Trenten of Grand Prairie; paternal grandmother, Ramona Malone of Wills Point; maternal grandparents, Richard and Juanita Lee of Heartshorn, Okla.; brother, Pvt. Marcus Malone, stationed at Fort Hood; half brother, Kenneth Hogan of Heartshorn, Okla.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Debbie Tisdale of Wills Point; brother-in-law, Hudnal Tisdale of Wills Point; aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Wills Point.
