Not true. He knew they are both fertile and he was very willing to make her a mother, as biology dictates. He knew that was going to happen at some point in time because they were having sex. He also knows he may contract an infection/disease if she chooses other partners. I don't know if he's joyous about it but he did accept the consequences of sex when he chose to partake.

It's just the reality of having a LTR with a person.
