Subject: What about a pageant that only lets you have one prelim title before the state pageant every year (to minimize crown collecting, allowing others chances to win) . This is a good pageant, that I truely love, and I as a prelim director I want to make it great for all involved......

So our state director has implemented a "royalty divison" (for those already holding aprelim title, the division is basically a way to compete, for practice, but not for a crown)to be allowed at prelims. My questions are:

What is everyone's take on royalty divisions in a preliminary? Do you think they are a good idea or not? What would you expect or want if you decided to compete in a royalty division? Fees off entry to the state pageant or gifts/crowns? Obviously you would want a lower cost for the royalty if you aren't getting crowns/banners, but what seems fair for entry prices? Would you want to be able to compete in all categories, like a regular pageant, or just the mandatory categories for your division at state? I know that the royalty division is supposed to be extra practice for state but is this something that you would do???? I guess my question is basically is there enough interest in a royalty division in upcoming prelims to justify having one, wand what do YOU the pageant mom want to pay and receive?
