Subject: I understand this is a board for Fair pageants but my primary issue has been oevr the last year we have attended multiple pageants that have not delivered items promised or substituted with a choice that is not acceptable. click in

My childs sponsor paid for program book ads at 2 pageants this year which were not run and then not refunded. T shirt not handed out. Ice cream fun party turned into 10 pm cheap cookie & juice box. Jackpot prize of $3.00 cash when it should have been at least $20 due to numbers entered. Door titles added but not offered to every child upon registration. Promise of tickets to area attractions not given.
A royalty/participation prize bag for boys with pink plush, earrings, and play makeup. A trophy that says Princess on it for son. Participation prize not handed child on stage but off stage so that during crowning childs hard work never noted. Toddler fisher price toy given to 14 yr old. While it would be nice to have a fair playing field to compete at, I am sick to death of paying for items we never receive or empty promises of fun activities during the pageant weekend. Also please address the issue of holding a pageant at a filthy hotel in bad neighborhoods and schedule of events that are tossed out the door on sat am.
I have to admit I would be happy at this point to get to a rigged pageant if it ran on time, held fun activities in a nice hotel, and handed my child the prizes promised as runner up.

[> These are a lot of issues to address. If we give a star to a pageant and they don't carry through with the rule they promiced we have to investigate and prove that they broke the rule in order to take a star away from them. This is why its so important that we have lots of help. There are only three of use running this board. We want tons of help and involvement in this from everyone. The pageant your talking about seems like it wouldn't recieve any stars from us. -- Anonymous, 08:44:11 10/19/07 Fri [1]

[> Pageants ARE businesses and you should be able to contact the Better Business Bureau in your area AND where the pageant is headquartered and file a formal complaint! -- Anonymous, 12:01:31 10/21/07 Sun [1]

[> [> I totally agree!!! If you don't get what the ppw promised, contact the BBB! That's why the bureau is there, to help the consumer and to make businesses comply with certain rules and standards. No director wants a complaint with the BBB! -- Anonymous, 15:55:45 10/22/07 Mon [1]
