- RESURRECT THE NEW POLITICS; -
- LAROUCHE ADDRESSES CHINESE CONFERENCE -

Nov. 17--Today's NCR update included a short briefing from Jeff
and the War-Room report from Limari, plus a report from Angela
Vullo on Lyn's short address to the Global Summit of Chinese
People's Unification, and Aaron Yule's briefing on the explosive
case of last year's MySpace suicide Megan Meier, 13.

JEFF: I got a call from Steve Douglas a moment ago, and
Congressman Chaka Fatah (D-Pa.) has called for a six-month
moratorium on home foreclosures, and basically, in the statement
that he made he also said that the proposals coming from people
like Barney Frank (D-Mass.) are inadequate for dealing with the
magnitude of the crisis. Now, what Lyn has been saying for weeks
is that we really won the fight on the issue of a moratorium of
foreclosures, and there are various proposals floating around for
some kind of appropriate rental payment as part of that freeze.
The big issue and the big fight is to get people to realize that
this is not a mortgage crisis, but is a blowout of the entire
global banking system, and that without the other parts of the
Homeowners and Bank Protection Act, dealing with the issue of the
protection and reorganization of the regular banks, the
federally- and state-chartered banks, you're not going to really
accomplish what needs to be accomplished.
There's even coverage, I believe, in the IHT today in which
several people are quoted as saying that the $400 billion blowout
of the subprime mortgage market hitting the banking system and
other lending organizations, is really a $4 trillion credit loss,
because of the heavy leveraging that goes on with these
mortgages.
So we are in the process of turning the country upside down
on this issue. We have a LYM team in New Orleans attending the
national local legislators conference, part of which is National
Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials event, which I believe it
was Stephanie from Houston LYM addressed; we've got 40 or 50 new
signators among elected officials, and probably 60 or 70 overall
signatures at that event on the resolution endorsing the HBPA.
We've got city councils around the country moving on this.
And look, I think it's really important for ourselves to be
very clear on this situation. The apparatus represented by
people like Felix Rohatyn inside the Democratic Party consider
the LaRouche question to be a life or death issue for that whole
synarchist banking apparatus. And they consider Lyn's continuing
leading presence within the Democratic Party to be the greatest
threat to their political operations, and you've got this problem
continuously reflected inside the Democratic Party to the point
that if Cheney gets his way and there is an attack on Iran, then
his leading co-conspirator, the person who's going to be seated
next to him at some future Nuremberg docket, is going to be Felix
Rohatyn's Nancy Pelosi: Because she is owned outright by Rohatyn
and that fascist apparatus. And her reasons for blocking the
impeachment of Cheney, go beyond mere cowardice or political
expediency and pragmatism. She's owned by the same people that
own Cheney. They're two pieces of shit floating in the same
toilet bowl.
And so, you've got a problem on the Democratic Party side,
where more honest people say, "We don't have the votes to
actually have a functioning majority in the Congress, and we
don't know how to do that." Well, Lyn addressed that question
with the paper that he wrote last week, on the "LaRouche
Republicans": You have a Republican revolt under way; any sane
Republican at this point, is in a mode of revolt, insurrection
against the Bush White House. They don't have Nancy Pelosi to
worry about. So we have the opportunity, around the HBPA, to
forge the kind of bipartisan combination that's going to be
necessary to get these policies through.
And the way that that's going to work, is by really going
with what Lyn has been systematically insisting on for years, but
really with renewed emphasis in the last few weeks: We've got to
get back to the New Politics approach that was a dominant driver
in the organizing, carrying from the 2004 Presidential election
through the 2006 midterm election victory and beyond. Just
because the Democratic Party went rotten as the result of the
Rohatyn intervention, among other things, and basically caved in
on the issue of the collapse of the auto sector, does not mean
that we should change the directionality in our work. We've got
this orientation towards energizing and mobilizing {young
citizens}, young voters, people of the appropriate revolutionary
age, and that's got to be our driving thrust.
You will get a response from the boomers and the tweeners,
when they see that we are energizing the youth population. So the
New Politics is the driver, around which we're going to create
this bipartisan combination, to push through the Homeowners and
Bank Protection Act, and at the same time, force the breakthrough
on impeachment.
Look, the November 6th action in the House of
Representatives was not one of these ``gotcha'' political
maneuvers by the Republicans. Because the net effect of the
republican vote, combined with the Democratic vote, was that the
issue of Cheney's impeachment, is now officially remanded to the
House Judiciary Committee for action. We had meetings this week
with senior staff people on the Committee, and they told us:
there is a battle royal going on behind the scenes, inside the
Democratic Party over what to do. And this issue is the subject
of the international lede for the next EIR, which I finished
writing this morning, holding up Cheney and Pelosi as potential
war criminals, with more blood on their hands than Hitler, if
they actually get this Iran attack going.
So, we've got fresh ammunition in this fight. And I can tell
you, the one reason why Pelosi's attempts to kill impeachment
have not fully succeeded yet, is because of the prospect of an
attack on Iran. If it was simply Cheney's past crimes, relating
to Guantanamo, Iraq, domestic spying, all of those terrible
things, there would not be any kind of sentiment for impeachment
on Capitol Hill -- at least not as an urgent, near-term priority.
But the minute you say to people that there is another war on the
horizon, far more horrific than the last war, then they shudder.
Then they acknowledge that this is why it is that this fight is
being carried out behind the scenes.
There's a lot of people who are deeply concerned on both
sides of the aisle. If there's an issue that is really driving a
certain bipartisanship among some members of Congress, it is the
issue that Cheney's got to go, in order to stop the bombing of
Iran that will set in motion an asymmetric Third World War.
So, on all of these issues, it should be absolutely clear
that we are the driver--we're running this show, and that we've
got to keep pushing on every available flank, particularly this
youth flank.
Now, I believe that within the next few days, the final
draft of the pamphlet that's being exclusively written by the LYM
members in Leesburg and around the country, will be presented to
Lyn for his final review, and then we're going to go with it.
But, we have Lyn's piece -- ``Extreme Events''--which we should
be saturating every where, because it links together the behavior
of people like Hank Paulson, and the behavior of those people who
targetted this youth generation, for literally suicidal
destruction.
Now, another thing that we're doing, that is, I think,
another critical surprise flank of the kind that our enemies
constantly fear coming out of Lyn, is what we're doing on
Giuliani and Bloomberg. And Tony Chaitkin has an excellent
article just completed on this, that will also be in the next
EIR. And basically, the story is, that as Lyn's been saying for
the last few weeks, Giuliani was put forward as the frontrunner
to knock out the other Republican candidates, and then be brought
down by his own scandals, starting with the indictment of Kerik.
And waiting in the wings is New York's mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Now, the campaign to get Bloomberg in as president, was
launched in August of 2006 at a private meeting hosted by Michael
Steinhardt, the mafia, Wall STreet guy who was the initial head
and funder of the DLC. Steinhardt is the architect of the
Bloomberg option. And right after Lieberman lost the Democratic
primary election in 2006 to Ned Lamont, and then ran as an
independent, it was Bloomberg who provided the financing and the
personnel for Lieberman's victory in the November 06 election.
And Lieberman is the first to admit that he owes his seat in
Congress to Bloomberg.
So that tells you who this guy really is. And so, this is
coming out this week, and I think the Bloomberg option is going
to be off the table, within days, if not sooner.
So, these are, I think, some of the highlight points that I
wanted to focus everybody's attention on: The HBPA, the youth
outreach as the cornerstone of the LPAC work, the LPAC driver for
everything we're doing, and Lyn's absolutely pivotal role as the
decisive factor in what the outcome of the 2008 election is going
to be, and therefore, what the future of this planet is going to
be. And in the meantime we've got to force through, through the
Judiciary Committee, the impeachment of Cheney to stop what
otherwise should be clearly seen as an almost guaranteed certain
U.S. attack on Iran, that will blow this planet to smithereens.
So, that's what I've got to say:

ANGELA: So this morning, Lyn was the featured speaker at the
Global Summit for Chinese Unification. There were a couple
hundred leaders from all over the world. It was at the University
of Maryland at Rockville, and to give you a sense of it: The
conference began with an opening ceremony this morning. At 9 AM,
the Chinese ambassador spoke, and then two or three other
prominent leaders from China and Taiwan, and then Lyn. He spoke
for 15 minutes. He was on the stage with maybe about 10 other
leaders, and as soon as he went to the podium, about a dozen
people ran up to take pictures.
Basically what he spoke about, he went into a bit of the
financial crash, but his main focus was on the future. He laid
out a vision for the future over the next 100 years, and he
talked about all these regional developments between China,
Russia, Korea and Japan, through the LandBridge. And he basically
said that we've got to get rid of globalization. He attacked the
U.S. government. He said that we've got to think two to three
generations ahead.
But to give you a sense of the other speakers, I didn't
understand because it was Chinese to me, but anyway, they were
really passionate. People were like screaming. I said, I'm glad
this is for peaceful unification. Anyway, the speaker who spoke
just before Lyn, every time he wanted Lyn to understand what he
was saying, he would speak in English. He spoke in Chinese, and
then he would speak in English: ``You had a civil war, it took
four years, now we want our civil war, we want one nation. You've
got one nation under God, we want one nation under Heaven.'' So,
anyway, this afternoon, the speakers are from the Brookings
Institute, CSIS, and so I'm sure it will be quite interesting.

AARON: Well, the incident that occurred was the death of a
13 year old girl last year, but the incident itself is not the
problem. The problem is the tragedy that Lyn was talking about in
the recent papers, and picked up with this recent thing where
he's talking about Paulson as a product also of this problem that
exists, tragically, in the United States, and worldwide.
And this girl, it's a very confusing report, but the girl
herself committed suicide because a fake personality was created
by another family, who was her friend's family. Her friend's
mother and father created a fake personality, through MySpace,
and there was a full interaction through the existence of
MySpace, which this girl was interacting with. And therefore
drove her to commit suicide, because of this problem. She was a
rejected kind of person, because she was chubby, and stuff of
that nature, and she gets into a situation where she thinks she
has this friend, this fake friend on MySpace, which then she gets
rejected eventually by this fake friend. But not only is the fake
friend involved, but you have multiple personalities around the
fake friend act on the girl. And this is the kind of thing that's
been occurring, most of the time on MySpace--and Facebook too.
And it's not particularly, what I think the problem is not
particularly the family that was involved, although they are part
of this problem, but that as was reported by the Missouri paper,
the St. Charles Journal, there's this mob mentality that's
building up around these kinds of incidents, where people on this
internet world--within MySpace and Facebook--see some reports
about these kinds of incidents, and really react, and do the same
kind of operation that occurred to the girl, to the family that
were supposedly the main perpetrators of the fake personality.
So, you have a complete driven tragedy that's occurring in
the United States, that is reflected not in the suicide itself,
but in the mob reaction ... So, there'll be more on this. We're
putting reports together of other kinds of incidents, and of
these characters, and it'll be in the pamphlet, which will soon
be out.

LIMARI: If I can just follow up a little bit on what Aaron
said, by just reminding everyone, when we came here about three
weeks ago, we had this new Warroom transition, we did want to get
the locals to lunge on the MySpace flank, and they've done a good
job of that, it's true. However, we're not really getting a
sense of how the locals are approaching the MySpace flank. We're
getting a lot of good deployments... but that's something I'll
come back to, becuase I think it might come out more on some of
the reports on what's been going on around the country.
But I want to start with what's been going on in Houston for
the past couple days, which is, when people probably heard
yesterday, that got an update, that we had as of the evening
about 60 signatures onto the HBPA at the National Conference
Local Elected Officials. However, they still, at that point,
hadn't sorted out who these people were elected, and who were
just excited lobbyists or lawyers, or teachers, or just people
who wanted to sign on and support it. But as of this morning,
they officially confirmed that they have 69 official, elected
city councilmen, etc. And they got seven just this morning, and
their goal is to have 100 total by the end of the day. And they
had a sign that says: "Don't Leave the Big Easy Without Signing
Up for the HBPA!"Also, 20 of these signatures came right after
Stephanie spoke at the Black Caucus event within this bigger
event, which had about 100 or so attendees.
Now, in Los Angeles this week we had a very successful
meeting of the FDR Legacy Club, where the buildup included a lot
of work we had done on the campuses, in the area, such as PCC,
where we had a lot of choral rallies. We had a MySpace graveyard
banner, and a lot of MySpace canons, such as "Es Wagen, Ja" [ph],
with the words "The chicks on MySpace love me," and that's
getting a lot of responses, even from professors, to understand
the problems they're encountering in the classrooms.
But they organize a lot in the neighborhoods as well, door
to door. They dropped off in one day, 2000 copies of the
Platform book. They had about 15 people in squads, roving around
south Pasadena. They did get one person off of those deployments
to come, who was just curious, who had gotten a flyer, but they
also got some interesting call-ins as well, but I don't have the
details about.
But we had a total of 35 people at the meeting to see Joe
Neal speak, who gave a very inspiring speech. The report I got,
it was probably one of the best speeches from an elected
official, or former elected official.
And so they're doing a good job on the HBPA work overall in
Los Angeles. They've blanketed all of LA County, and they're at
a point right now, where they got this breakthrough in Pomona.
They have a breakthrough in Bell Gardens, too, where somebody is
going to write up a resolution to be introduced in the City
Council in Bell Gardens. So they're at a point where either some
of the cities either never call them back, responded, or just
gave them the finger, such as Glendale. But, what we're going to
be doing in following up, in collaboration with the LA phone
team, is contacting all of our best people, everybody who's on
our contact list, the really motivated contacts, people who won't
flinch on Lyn, and we're going to organize these people to come
to the City Council meetings, where people may be are being
evasive on working with us, and force the issue. We're also
thinking about creative ways of making musical interventions, and
use the choral work that we have, in preparing to go into some of
these meetings. Who knows?
But they're going to go with the second wave of work into LA
County. Especially in light of the attacks we've been getting:
Since we passed the resolution in Pomona, we haven't been able to
set up anywhere in the city, which is a city where we've
organized for decades and have tons of contacts. And also Pico
Rivera, which was on the verge of putting forward the resolution,
calling on Grace Napolitano to put forward the HBPA, they all of
a sudden shut down that effort inside the Pico Rivera City
Council, and totally turned their backs on us. And actually came
up with really lame slanders against us. So, we're going be
taking things into our hands there.
In Boston--we have a ton of stuff going on, so much I don't
have time to go through it right now--but this week, we spoke to
a total of at least eight city councillors and one mayor this
week, who are either ready to move with the HBPA or very open to
the idea of moving with it.
In Oakland, we had an hour and a half discussion with the
vice mayor from a Bay Area city, who at the end gave us his
signature. And he's contacted us three times during that same
day, to tell us, "I have some updates for you, I just talked to
this guy, I just talked to that guy, and he said this about the
HBPA." And he's also very open to discussing a lot of the
slanders that have been coming out.
We also did a couple of successful mass deployments to SAC
State, in which they're bringing together all the work on
attacking the culture very well with the HBPA. They went two
days in a row, and they said that their plan was to go very early
and leave the campus around 2; but they got into so many
discussions, especially off the signs attacking MySpace, people
walking by and coming back after class, that they couldn't leave
until 4 pm.
In Seattle: We had initially a bit of situation where we
were kind of stuck, where--I don't know what people were smoking
up there, but they don't think they have an economic crisis!
Cause they're something like 49 on the list of foreclosure rates.
So, they said, "Well, why don't we go outside of the immediate
Seattle area and go into the more rural areas, or other areas
where people might be thinking more in reality?" And they made
blanket calls to all sorts of elected officials, from the federal
level down. They made calls to Olympia, and got six meetings the
same day, both Democrats and Republicans, and got a signer who's
a labor contact and also a district vice chair. And they said
that they're still going after this MySpace thing by asking
people, "Do you know about impeachment?" "No." "Do you know
about the mortgage crisis?" "No...." "Well, have you been on
MySpace." "Yes." So, sort of like self-discovery for these
guys. But they found out that actually, 50% of the people they
spoke to to have MySpace accounts just got them in the past
month. I bet that's something interesting to look into. How
there's a surge going on in the MySpace memberships.
In Detroit, something interesting is that they were very
inspired by a briefing that Rob Ainsworth did from Montreal on
the upcoming EIR conference that they're going to have, and
they're very ambitious with just a four-person local contacting
over 300 MPs. They're also contacting embassies, they've already
had meetings with embassies. So, Detroit thought "Well, why
don't we get ambitious and hold a town meeting, and put pressure
on Conyers to come?" So, they decided to set up a meeting for
the 11th, where they're going to make the issue not only the HBPA
and the foreclosure crisis, but also impeachment, given that this
is Conyers' district, and they're going to get their movement and
their constituents to pressure him to actually come and address
it.
They also spoke at a Flint City Council meeting where three
youth members addressed the room. There were exclamations of
agreement on the term "systemic crisis" that we brought up in
relation to what's happening with the mortgages. And we
schedueled a lot of meetings for followup. And they also
expecting, they're very confident, that these guys will probably
pass a resolution very soon.
In D.C.: What they're doing is taking a lot of success we've
had at the ground level, and going into these specific offices,
targeting the offices--Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana,
California, Pennsylvania. And they had one meeting off of these
deployments with these offices, but they're still trying to push
for more. They have a new banner, which puts the title of the
new leaflet over a drawing of the Capitol Building, underneath it
with FDR saying, "It's Worse Than 1929!" They got that outside
the Congress.
There's also a lunge--we hoped this would be bigger--but we
lunged at an event for Giuliani. I guess I should say, we
"plunged" at an even for Giuliani, becuase we had a couple of
organizers outside, threatening a plunger out there, making it
clear to people that if Giuliani becomes President, what will
soon follow from behind. So, they were able to get into a lot of
discussions with people who were there, who were quite serious,
and who took literature inside the event.
We also had a very successful event at the town meeting that
was held by Jim Moran (Va.) and John Tierney (Mass.) on "Is Iran
Next?" discussing the war threat against Iran. And how they
deployed, where they essentially the entire LaRouche Youth
Movement, they got out 800 pamphlets, this characterizes how they
want to deploy in D.C., in which they're being scaled back to
about 13 people, is to still create the mass effect with fewer
people.
So, the last thing I wanted to say, I just took some time to
go through the Ops reports, and all that's been done this week,
which is good work. But, it seems as if there hasn't been a
clarity on what people are doing specifically with the work on
MySpace say. If the work on MySpace is actually leading to an
increase in the recruitment of people to do HBPA work, becuase
after all this is the flank that we proposed that we put out. It
was picked up by Lyn that there's big lack of connection to
reality, there's an operation within the population
psychologically, and if we don't hit this, we're not going to get
anywhere with this population. And it's having a sort of
immediate success, people are going with the initial
hypothesis--which is good, because we don't have the pamphlet
yet. But the locals shouldn't wait for the pamphlet to come out:
After all, there's a ton of work that had already been done in
the months leading up to this pamphlet, on Wikipedia, on MySpace,
on Rupert Murdoch, etc. And people can get that online.
Editorial, right now, is in the process of consolidating all of
that work, so people can get that, people can start getting that
out on campuses. It was done by Seattle this week, which got out
one of the slugs on the Detroit murders to some of the kids on
campus, which shook them up. So, it's important that people can
get to us in the Warroom, a sense of what is your hypothesis in
the local with this flank. And then we can get a sense, from an
overall view, of whether we're approaching this flank the right
way, whether we're actually recruiting or whether we're still in
MySpace ourselves.
And it's also very important for the locals to collaborate
with the work that's being done in D.C. and that's there's a
liaison from the locals to D.C., because some of the biggest
success I and others have had in the D.C. organizing, is when you
take on reports from the locals directly into these offices, and
get them to respond directly as representatives of their
constituency.
So, that's pretty much all I wanted to say for now.

LEADING DEVELOPMENTS

****FLASH****Nov. 17--The California Democratic Party Executive
Board, meeting in Anaheim today, approved a resolution which had
been passed during the summer by the Los Angeles County
Democratic Party Central Committee. The resolution -- which was
written before Lyndon LaRouche introduced his HBPA -- calls for
Congressional action to address the housing crisis, which it
identifies as causing a chain-reaction financial collapse. The
resolution was introduced by Ardena Clark of the LYM, who is an
elected member of the L.A. County Committee. It passed in L.A.
County, even though, at the time, the mention of the
chain-reaction financial collapse, was highly controversial.
