Subject: It's hard for me to pick a favorite, but I loved Mary-Louise Kurey, Jill Patzner, Joya Zamora, Tracy Gest, and Kristina Smaby. Kate Gorman wasn't my choice to win, but she turned out to be a really good Miss Wisconsin. I am also a big fan of Mary Kay Anderson, even though she was more than 25 years ago. Subject Author Date Wisconsin has been fortunate to have many great Miss Wisconsin's. I have to admit that I was shocked the year Mary-Louise Kurey won, because her talent at state that year was not good. But then she redeemed herself by switching to opera, and of course, placed in the Top 10 at Miss America. She was so gracious when she appeared at our local that year -- as was Joya, who is a real gem for all she does now to give back to the program as a local director. And like you, Kate Gorman was not my choice that year either, but she also did an outstanding job of representing Wisconsin. (NT) -- She's an incredibly gracious young woman, with a tremendous work ethic and a bright future. She also brought a breath of fresh air to the organization because she was so young and perhaps less pageant polished.
