hmm... My info on the pronounciation comes from Thom Hartmann, who wrote many books on the mystical side of Christianity. So unsure, perhaps there are some who pronounce it differently. he claims it's pronounced "Easter".

And it doesn't matter to me so much if the "Western" and "Eastern" churches agreed or not. The thing that I think is important is that these church "leaders" decided which books would go in and which would not. There were older books (written closer to the time Jesus actually lived) that were rejected by these leaders.

Who are they to reject these books? Were they ordained by God? (or Rome?)

Anyway, before I argue too strongly on this point, I should say this is just a theory of mine (i.e. that Rome was an incarnation of the antichrist and it tweaked the Bible just enough to use it to control mankind), I admit I could be wrong. All my life I've never hesitated to consider all ideas, no matter how "blasphemous", but even this I don't believe 100%. I just seems possible to me.

I have to say that after my epiphany, I realized that anything I come up with in my logical, "rational" mind is always suspect and prone to error — no matter how logical it may appear.
