Thanks Rana and Paul

For the first time I am conscious of being 'old'. Im 51. That will go against me for many jobs - lets not pretend 'equal opportunities' really exists in the job market.

The difficult part for me at the moment is the fact that I cant really look for a job yet as I dont know when the business will be sold. I cant leave before then as that would leave my friends in a terrible mess. So for now I sit and wait. The last thing I want is to find a great job then have to let it go because I cant start. I know my friends would say take the job, but I also know they have no-one to replace me and it would cost them the business deal....and probably their house. They have a toddler, a 1 year old, and another baby due
