well, hear me out.

I too rejected any notions about the antichrist and devil, etc before my epiphany. I too saw them as metaphors, and in the larger sense, I think they are, but I also am certain that there are dimensional entities that are manifested as "good" (angels) and evil ("devils or demons") - they are just as real (and unreal) as our egos are.

These types of ideas I used to believe were absurd, but this was mainly due to my faith in western science (and it is more "faith" than fact) and my allegiance to Zen Buddhist teachings, which doesn't address these issues as much.

And before you dismiss the "antichrist", remember the definition of what the "antichrist" is. To be a "Christ" is to be awakened. That's all.

The 'antichrist' is just a word for the forces designed to prevent that, and I have learned that there really are forces designed to stop our awakening. I am convinced that they will fail due to the laws of yin and yang, but they will create much suffering.

Now you may not believe there is evil, but we live in the "world of opposites". In fact our fall began when we became cognizant of dark and light, good and evil.

"If you are attached to your thinking, then everything has name and form. This is the world of opposites."
—Zen Master Seung Sahn

"Three pounds of flax in front of your nose,
Close enough, and mind is still closer.
Whoever talks about affirmation and negation
Lives in the right and wrong region."
—Zen Master Mumon [1183-1260]

Here's something I believe (and yes, it is a belief, so I admit I don't *know* this): we are all players in a dream. As Shakespeare said in "As You Like it"

"All the world's a stage and all the men and women, merely players"

I believe we are figments of imagination - our egos that is. And just as we are dream characters, so are other entities, such as mountain gods, as well as angels and demons. They are just as real as we are.

On the topic of mountain gods, read Hank Wesselman's "Spiritwalker" trilogy

<a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://www.amazon.com/Spiritwalker-Messages-Future-Hank-Wesselman/dp/0553378376">http://www.amazon.com/Spiritwalker-Messages-Future-Hank-Wesselman/dp/0553378376</a>

He is a highly respected anthropologist who had some amazing out of body experiences unlike anything you might have read before. In his books, he describes meeting a mountain god - he described it as a gigantic sentient presence, one that recognized him. The presence was overpowering, not good nor evil.

One of the reasons I believe his story is my own experience with communicating with a plant shortly after my epiphany. It's a long story, but it's true. It's the same type of experience many shamans claim to have had.

The bottom line is this (and this I know): all is consciousness, and everything, even a rock (or a mountain), has consciousness.
