Subject: Going to a live show

I went to see a show called "Celtic Thunder" last night, it's only appearance in Toronto. It was a very good, but not great, show, and my wife and I enjoyed it.

I get really ticked by the behaviour of people who go to these things and seem to think they are at a hockey game. The announcer asked people not to take flash pictures during the show, so we had flashes going off all over. Mostly these are people with their $89.95 HPs, whose flashes have a range of 20 feet, and most of them are using red eye reduction, so the bloody flash goes off twice. When they go home, they'll wonder why the picture is so dark.

In front of us was a row of Scots, who had been drinking all afternoon, so they had to stand up and rock back and forth during Mull of Kintyre, effectively blocking the view of the stage for everyone behind them. Add to that the shrill whistles and applause when a song has just started, and before it is properly finished, and sometimes I'd just as soon buy the DVD and watch it at home.

I guess some people do think their inexcusable behaviour is excusable. Or maybe I'm just old.
