Oddly enough, this same church decided that they needed to repaint the church building, one of those frame clapboard churches that dot the landscape. One of the members of the congregation, a landlord, offered to paint the church using paint that he used to paint his rental properties.

The day he came to paint the church, he opened his cans of latex paint, and carefully diluted each can with an equal amount of water, to make the paint go further. This is a common practice with landlords. Just as he finished painting the exterior, a sudden thunderstorm came up, and a heavy rain washed off all the new paint.

The rain stopped, and the clouds parted, and the painter heard a voice from Heaven, saying, "Repaint! And thin no more!"
