Subject: New Dealings

So, one of us has started a work placement through the 'new deal' (my arse). The c&c representative wanted me to put flat-pack furniture together, thankfully the gay gentleman at the jobcentre (who I went in to see and thank today) suggested this place called Ethnik City (all one word with the obligiatory .com at the end if you are curious). So I am now flexing my carpentry muscles and should have the opportunity to flex my full building-trade muscles, get trained up in AutoCAD (master builder & architect here I come - can you say KERRR-CHING??!!), and once the IT suite is in there's talk of getting me to train the other guys up in the basics.

Been knocking up stud walls since a week before christmas, it's amazing after the break I was actually looking forward to going back to work...maybe you didn't hear that properly...

I, Matthew Hemmings, Perennial Dole-Bum And Hardcore Work-Avoider, Was LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING BACK TO WORK.

The boss gave us all a christmas thankyou (which he doesn't have to do at all - we're all on £150 a fortnight he could just work us likes Dogs then tell us to piss off), and has already offered all three of us a job at the end if we want it(!!).

It's a strange feeling, doing something you enjoy - a feeling I have never had before. (Something, I suspect, like sleeping with someone you actually fancy)
