To be blunt, there's probably not much you can effectively do for this year group in her classes. But you have to bide your time and be aware that by doing so you save many years of students by getting the job that enables you to really have a positive impact. Trust me, I blew the first chances that I could have had by trying to force bad people above me to change or leave...it didnt work, not at all. I was completely sidelined and a 'marked man'. I had to move to a different school and have a fresh start..and yes, I was a lot more diplomatic (or less arse kicking, but not arse kissing, honest)

You cant do bugger all for anyone if you dont get the job. For now, the students need to complain to someone higher than the Head of Dept, or change classes or subjects. Sorry, but thats how it is in my opinion.
