On a more serious note - if this thing is real it will seem to be a godsend to our present administration. They are being prevented from applying some of the more heinous forms of torture in their secret prisons because they must stay within the guidelines that they have established in defining torture. Anything that does not "bring about permanent physical harm or death" is not torture. Imagine a machine that can deliver excruciating pain without leaving any physical marks. Do you believe for a minute that it won't be used? Especially when, in their twisted logic, it is not torture?
