Isn't it ironic that this forum is known as the MISS AUSTRALIA FORUM, yet the MISS AUSTRALIA pageant no longer exists, and even when it was around, it almost never sent a contestant to a major global contest (save for Tania Verstak, Miss International 1962)? From what I read, Miss Universe and Miss World delegates from Australia were selected by modeling agencies. I would like to see a new MISS AUSTRALIA pageant arise. With Australian successes at Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, and even Miss Tourism Queen in the past few years, the timing is right for a national beauty contest. I don't know why the franchise holders can't just pool their resources together and create a pageant that could rival Miss Venezuela, Miss India, Binibining Pilipinas, or even Miss USA. Subject Author Date Well there is the Miss Australia Earth pageant and it attracts a lot of beautiful girls, but so far they've managed to crown good girls but not so good facially. but beauty is skin deep as they say.
