Subject: Irene Sendler

Irene Sendler was a woman who personally and at great danger to herself, saved the lives of at least 2500 children in Poland during the holocaust. She found homes for them and sent them to live with non-Jewish families. She kept records; their names and true identities, stored in mason jars that she buried in hope that they could be reunited with their families after the war. When the Nazi's found out about her activities, she was captured, beaten and tortured. The Nazi's were unsuccessful. They never got the names of the children, or their current locations out of her.

Ms. Sendler was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for her efforts. She didn't win. Al Gore did. That is the day the Nobel Prize lost all credibility, imo.

And now, Barack Obama has won the Peace Prize. For what, exactly? Can anyone explain it?

Ms. Sandler definitely should have won in 2009. I don't know why the President won this year except for an ideal and for what people want him to achieve. It also puts a tremendous amount of pressure on the President to live up to.

truth be told, even Obama must wonder why he got it.

Does anybody really hold it in any esteem anymore? Now you win it for things you claim you will do? Okey dokey.
