Subject: Jeannine, you ought to come to my town

We are staging an "Owensboro Tea Party" on April 11. The "party" was organized by one of my very conservative friends, with whom I have had many enjoyable back-and-forth e-mail days discussing topics. All affiliations are invited and the time will be spent in discussions, but mostly in writing to our elected representatives, both state & federal, about the issues that concern us and how we feel about their service. My friend is supplying the postcards and will foot the bill for the postage. It should be a very educational and enjoyable day and something I've never been a party to.

Maybe if every town held one of these, those in office might begin to pay a little more attention to the ones who put them there!

I just thought my friend had a good idea. I'm not sure I'm fed up with everything on that list, but there's a good many I am. My biggest beef lately has been the "outrage" of Congress with the AIG executives taking bonuses and not giving them back. I'd like to see members of Congress "give back" their hefty raises they vote themselves every year!

and I just signed up to go to the one in Fort Worth!!!!

The spending is way out of control and it is very good to see friends from the left on the list.... now the question is, will the media cover them?

btw, Deb, where is your town?

Right below Indiana on the Ohio River in the western part of Kentucky. We're the third largest city in Kentucky. Nice town, friendly people, and a huge Good Ol Boy network that is in its last days thanks to some forward-thinking people. There will be some exciting things in the next few years. (Can you tell I work for the Visitor's Bureau? LOL!)
