And I agree with Jenn. If disrespect is wrong of one party, it is wrong of BOTH! I am a registered "Dem" and proud of it, but I don't just blindly (or robotically, if you will) follow any party line.
Health care in this country absolutely needs reform. And if all these "sides" would stop arguing and just get the f*** to work on a proposal with concessions from all sides, we might actually see a day when every citizen of this great country could count on affordable health care and not have to worry about whether a serious illness or injury might mean losing your home. Or have to take their prescriptions every other day instead of every day to try to save money.
You can throw out any number of your examples of reciprocal rudenesses; but how about, instead, coming up with some ideas of your own, and not just the falsehoods that have been spread around to just kill any health care reform outright?

I thought we were talking about the lack of respect for the presidency, which you brought up with your comment about how shameful it was the President's speech was so rudely and disrespectfully interrupted.
ITA with your comment that Health care in this country absolutely needs reform. I just don't happen to agree with how Obama's wants to do it as do 53% of the people in this country.
Rasmussen Reports polling conducted over the past two nights shows that 44% of voters currently favor the health care reform proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats. Fifty-three percent (53%) are opposed.

I admit, I have been guilty of generalizations. But I actually tried to change my way of thinking and expressing myself from comments made on this board. So what I take offense at is the use of "Dems" as a derogatory term, the same as "liberal" used to be.
All I'm saying is that all sides, left, right & middle, need to stop the bullshit and start trying to work together on a plan that will be acceptable to all. And that will most definitely mean that everyone will have to make some kind of concessions.
I'm tired of the "they did it to us, now we're gonna do it to them" mentality. I agree that some people have been disrespectful of past presidents, but I also agree that it's time to STOP! It would have made Joe Wilson a MUCH bigger man if he had kept his mouth shut during the President's speech and made his comment after. And maybe in a bit more civilized way. He may just have changed a few fence-sitters minds with his outburst.

They need to slow it down and think about every aspect of this new bill quietly and productivly...this affects every one of us Americans.
Who are proud to be an American.
Who can vote, talk freely and discuss every issue...but to hurry this bill and slap your hands and say our side is done...is NOT going to happen.

Did I say "right now"? Did I say "rush through"? I said work together, in a civilized manner. I can only hope the politicians are more willing to work on a bipartisan plan than some people on this board are willing to talk about it. It's time to stop talking "sides" and start talking United States citizens!

Because it'll take effect in 2013 and he can campaign in 2012 on having had the bill passed. It's all political. He's a politician. He wants to be a heroic president. It's all about him. But, we will benefit from health care reform that will, hopefully, have been a bi-partisan effort.
