she is being used as a scapegoat and there is a serious effort out there to ruin her political future.

Some of the reports are not just outlandish, they are cartoonish. Good Lord, liberals think conservatives are so stupid. She is a successful governor and a college graduate but we are supposed to believe that she didn't know Africa was a continent? I also find it hard to believe that she threw "temper tantrums" when she didn't get her way. Temper tantrum ---- sounds like code for an assertive female to me. I also find it very suspicious that the reports were first leaked by Carl Cameron of Fox News. Whoever is behind it obviously wants to discredit her to conservatives; the media has already taken care of the liberals.

Sarah Palin was embraced by Conservatives. She outdrew McCain everywhere. Love her or hate her, she is what many conservatives wanted. There were A LOT of questions about many of McCain's policies. Republicans were not behind him enforce until she was nominated. Many also questioned his campaign tactics as well.

One thing I have learned through this long process is to NEVER EVER trust the media. Any of them. They do not report the news, they report their opinions. They do not respect us, I will not respect them.

I have also learned that for all the talk that I have heard all my life about equality for women, a lot of women appear to feel that only applies to iberal women. When nothing else was known by the majority of the people of this country except that she had several children, the first thing we heard was "she should be home raising those children!!!!" "How can she be VP and still take care of her kids!" The real issues was, imo, she does not support abortion. The proper response would have been to highlight that fact and let the voters decide. The response we got was sexism, pure and simple.

We haven't seen the last of Sarah Palin.

You hate it when Repubs/conservatives are all lumped together and categorized. Well, guess what? You just did it to the liberals. This liberal does not think conservatives are stupid and has a big problem with your comment.

Additionally, this liberal cannot stand Sarah Palin and hopes that her political star fades quickly but it has nothing to do with sexism. I gave you a list of reasons why I dislike and distrust her when she was nominated. That list hasn't changed. I stood up for her when the comments about "staying home to raise her kids" were brought up on this board.

You can't complain about how you're treated on the board and then treat the Dems the same way. I like you (what I know of you anyway) a lot and I've always enjoyed reading your posts here, but I found this one very disappointing.

coming from the McCain campaign and Fox News. I have no idea why you are blaming liberals. These are the people who picked her in the first place, so please, don't blame the Democrats and the media. The Katie Couric interview was a big reason she lost support, and unless you can tell us which question Katie asked that was unfair, I don't think you can blame her lousy performance on anybody but her. But to repeat, this story is totally coming from the right, so for once, leave the Dems out of it.

I hate generalities, as I thought you did as well. I, for one, never thought Palin should "stay home with the children". I gave her a lot of credit for stepping into the fishbowl that is American politics. She is being used now as the obvious scapegoat and I think it's a shame. I have no doubt we will hear from her in the future.

I am a liberal and thrilled with the outcome of the election and excited about the future. But until "liberal" stops being used as a dirty word, there won't be much chance of bringing a sense of unity to the country.

insult or derisive generalization. But I have thick skin and I'm still feeling euphoric so no biggie. I despise Palin. But I was also angered by comments from BOTH sides initially, that she should be home taking care of kids. No one says that about male candidates with kids and it infuriates me. It does appear that Palin is being scapegoated. Perhaps as the "newbie" in the game, some felt she could be sacrificed to save face? I don't know. It is kind of intriguing.

You are right that I shouldn't lump all the libs in together. I hate it when you guys do it to us and I won't do it again.

I do think that these reports are coming from the people who, for whatever reason they have (some are most likely trying to save their own asses), are trying to ruin her future politically. There are now reports that most of these things never happened... we will probably never know the truth, because the media, including Fox News cannot be trusted. That is a tragedy.

I meant no offense to anyone here, you guys actually treat me pretty well for an old conservative loud-mouth!

She's not going to slink into a corner and fade away.

I bet she throws her hat into the ring in 2012. I don't like her politics or her "mavricky" charm at all.

It's almost like the bitter McCain people are trying to make sure no one else wants her running for a federal office again.
