Subject: My doctor is so cool
In reply to: jayjay 's message, "she shoots her own fur" on 01:29:22 09/10/08 Wed

Had a check up today for my high BP and anxiety Rx refills. Doc Mari did 15 minutes straight on the patronizing nature of McCain choosing Palin as a running mate.

Doc actually MET RFK just before Sirhan Sirhan shot him. Said he hasn't been this passionate about politics since 1968 but by god, he's fired up and ready for a revolution. He actually said, "Maverick my ass!" at one point.

I couldn't agree more.

but having met RFK doesn't make him/her RFK.

There was nothing patronizing about choosing Sarah Palin to attract a demographic. It was political, just as picking Joe Biden was political. Do you really think Obama picked good old Joe because they are idealogical soul mates?

What is patronizing is the attitude of those (epitomized by Charlie Gibson in his interview with Sarah) who think they are soooo much smarter than conservatives. Start the revolution without me.

I thought he was too lenient and not going into any detail and just hit the headline questions... I thinking and suspected that before the interview ABC has submitted a list of questions and Gop "vetted" them, because Sarah wasn't stumped by any of them and her answers were quick and pat. She didn't give any thoughtful answers, she just repeated what has already been written about her views. To me she sounded like a parrot that was repeating from memory...

So since she knew the answers she must have had the questions in advance? And the questions were "vetted" by the GOP? I thought the GOP was so ignorant about vetting????!

It wasn't the questions, it was the attitude, that was what I posted, and that is still my point.

I'm thinking that you are so committed to the Republican party that you look for slight where there is none...I was just joking. Ha, Ha.... "vetted" get it? I've heard "vetted" so many times in the last two weeks, that I thought I'd try to work it into a posting...

Anyway, the interview was fair and neutral, IMHO.

Seeing that a Hillary pick for VP would've been a slam dunk for him and everyone knows it....I sortof respect his pick as going against what a very important huge demographic wanted him to do.

And when it comes to condescension, from all I've seen I think Mrs. Palin (I won't generalize as all conservatives) has the market cornered.
