Subject: Just got home from the Asheville Obama rally!

It was such a beautiful day. I am so proud to live here. The high school stadium was a gorgeous backdrop for this historic event. The police department is reporting that there were 22,000 people inside the stadium and 6000 waiting around the perimeter gate that didn't get in. We got there to get in line around 11:00 and they opened the gates around 11:30. I think it was probably about 1:30 before we got in. Then he spoke at 2:30. We had awesome seats in the home stands and could see him perfectly. I can't remember a day in my life that was soooo exciting.

my son says he is amazing in person, and it's much different than on tv. Did you find that too?

Something about seeing him speak in person is so inspirational -- you feel obligated, in a good way, to do whatever you can to make this world a better place. I got a little of that from his books as well, but I feel like a lot of the inspiration is lost on tv. Once you attend an Obama speech, it's hard not to leave and dedicate additional personal efforts to helping someone, somewhere.
